Accordingto Jacobson, Eggert, Smith &amp Rosenzweig (2012), advanced clinicalpractice refers to a process where individuals with the expertknowledge base and registered as practitioners embrace clinicalcompetencies. They also make complex decisions for the purpose ofwidening their scope of practice depending on the context or countryin which they are credentialed to execute and develop their career.In the Doctor of Nursing Practice program, my potential clinicalproblem will be the impact of DNP in rural healthcare services. I aminterested in the clinical problem because of various reasons.

2.Why I am interested in the clinical problem

Firstly,access to health services is essential to the residents staying inthe countryside. Therefore, through the program, I will be able toensure that people who are staying in rural areas conveniently andconfidently use various amenities such as public health facilities,behavioral health, dental as well as primary care (Shiu, Lee &ampChau, 2012). Access to these rural healthcare services as a result ofthe DNP program is crucial because it will improve the overallsocial, mental and physical health status of the residents.Similarly, the program will improve the number of deaths that couldbe avoided, increase the people’s quality of life and also improvetheir life expectancy. It is also worth noting that the DNP programfacilitates the detection and treatment of illnesses and alsoenhancing their prevention.

3.Its relevance to the current society

Theimpact of DNP in rural healthcare services is relevant to the currentsociety today because people in rural areas often experience barriersto health care which subsequently limits their ability to get thequality of medical services that they need (Jacobson et al. 2012). For these people to have sufficient access to health care, Doctor ofNursing Practice program is essential to improve the way healthcareservices are availed hence making it easier for them to access andobtain medical services (Shiu, et al. 2012).

4.Evident-based practice change

Theimpact of DNP in rural healthcare services potentially warrantsevidence-based practice change because nurses and medicalpractitioners will be able to evaluate the quality of servicesoffered in rural areas, their effectiveness in meeting the needs ofthose people as well as the most common diseases that affect them(Kalb, et al 2015). That will help the healthcare professionals tosuccessfully develop, implement and provide the necessary changestailored towards improving the services offered in rural areas basedon evidence-based practice (Shiu, et al. 2012). The process begins byidentifying a nursing problem. Then the DNP will convert the probleminto a question following the PICO structure. According to&nbspDr.Elizabethcompletion of an evidence based practice the student becomes a savvyconsumer of research. They are poised in a position that they cantranslate research into practice. Additionally, the student is ableto base practice on critical analysis of quality research rather thanopinion or history. The evidence collected that is to be consideredin the practice is of great importance as it determines the successof the DNP in solving the identified problem.

5.Its relevance to the role of DNP

Oneof the key roles of DNP is to prepare nurses to provide high-qualityservices to their patients and ensure that they fully implementevidence-based practice (Kalb et al. 2015). Therefore, the clinicalproblem is relevant because it widens the experience of nurses byknowing the effects of the program and its impact in these areas sothat they can be in a better position to deliver care. Notably, thatwill be vital in facilitating their efforts of advocating for achange such that the healthcare services in rural areas meet variousmedical needs of the residents (Shiu, et al. 2012). On the otherhand, assessing the impact of DNP in rural healthcare facilities willalso help nurses improve their practice by combining the best currentevidence together with their clinical expertise as well as patientvalues to make more informed and profound decisions when offeringtheir services to people in rural areas. That will shift their focusfrom practicing what is learned from research hence enhancing thequality of services provided (Kalb et al. 2015)
