Concernshave been raised over the impact of XXX College mobile app on theperformance of the students. Even though the app was developed toenhance learning by creating an interactive platform where studentscan share their knowledge and learning materials, it is believed thatthe platform has negative effect on education since students spendmost of their time using it and neglecting their personal studies.The drop in the performance of students in various classes isattributed to the use of XXX College mobile app. The purpose of thisstudy is to establish whether there is a relationshipbetween the use of the app and the performance of the students.

Hypothesisstatements

Thenull hypothesis (H0)of the study states that thereis no correlation between the time students spent on XXX Collegemobile app and their performance, Onthe other hand, the alternative hypothesis (H1)state that thereis a correlation between the time students spent on XXX Collegemobile app and their performance.

Variablesof study

Thisstudy uses two variables the first variable is an interval variablewhich is the time that student spend using the College mobile app,while the second variable is the performance of the students.

Hypothesistesting

Thehypothesis testing was conducted with a confidence level of 95percent. The P-value of the data was used for analysis. A regressiontechnique was used to determine if there is a correlation betweenthetime that the students spend on XXX College mobile app and theirperformance thus establishingthe validity of the null hypothesis. A survey method was used toobtain the data for the study. A sample size of 20 students was used,and the selected students were asked the amount of time that theyspend on the platform and their class performance. The two variableswere then compared to establish if there is a correlation betweenthem. The results were as shown in table below

Testingof the level of significance.

Thefollowing conditions were taken into consideration.

H01=β and k ≠0

H1:where value of β is one and above i ≠0

H0:p =0 .25.

α=0.667

P= Pr (x ≥ 1) = Pr (x = 1)

TheP-value is given by the difference between the expected proportionand the observed proportion

0.25-0 .667 =-0.417 this is less than p&lt0.01

Theresults show a relationship between the time that students spendusing XXX College mobile app and their performance in class. Theaverage time that the sampled students spent on the app was 5 hours.However, most students who spent more time performed poorly while theones who spent less time using the college app performed well. Thestandard deviation of theaveragegradepoint of the students was 0.54, and the significance level was(p&lt0.01).Thisprove that there is a correlation between the time students spend onthe platform and their performance in class.
