I agree with your observation that both positive and negative tonesare useful when motivating someone. I also concur with yourconclusion that in the situation you analyzed, the positive talk wasthe most practical approach. However, I would like to bring to yourattention the role of self-efficacy in motivation. Primarily,self-efficacy refers to the personal beliefs about one’s competencein a given situation (Schwarzer, 2014). It is important for anindividual to demonstrate self-efficacy as a precursor to motivation.Additionally, the need achievement and self-worth motivation theoryholds that success oriented people do not fear failure and have ahigh sense of self-efficacy. Hence, it is vital for individuals toconfront challenges without the fear of failure and to welcomeaccurate feedback regardless of whether it is positive or negative.

The choice of website is appropriate because it examines behaviorchange in critical areas of life, including losing weight, eatinghealthy foods, and staying happy. The website has severalmotivational strategies that one can use to effect the envisionedchanges and ensure that he or she remains on course. Essentially, Iwould like to add that behavior or the productivity of personal orgroup action is a major determinant of people`s health (Martin,Haskard-Zolnierek, &amp DiMatteo, 2011).&nbspTherefore, change inbehavior required several intervention strategies for one to achievethe desired objectives. However, I would like to point out that whenit comes to behavior change, information and ideas are not enough. Onthe contrary, one must identify the theories and techniques that aremost effective. In line with the above, self-regulatory andself-monitoring techniques such as goal setting and assessment offeedback on performance are consistently efficient when it comes tochanging behavior.
