Thispaper focuses on the Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner as themaster`s-prepared nurse`s career. This specialty track for PediatricCare Nurse Practitioners ensures that graduates are ready and up tochallenge with a couple of career opportunities. The individuals canrespond to the needs within the health care and in different settingswhere their work may be applicable(Wallet al., 2014)

Bybeing exposed to class work, experience in the field andcomprehensive research, the individuals who take up this MSN get thenecessary skills, values, and knowledge that are required forcertification of the advanced nursing practice(Lowe et al., 2012).The curriculum is often designed in a manner to meet the differentguidelines and standards such as the National Organization of NursePractitioner Faculties and the requirements as set by the PediatricNursing Certification Board (PNCB) and the American NursesCredentialing Center (ANCC). Through the program, there are activeand collaborative relationships between the college that offer thecourse and the primary care providers that exist within thecommunities. While undertaking the class content, individuals get theopportunity to engage in detailed research work, selection of diverseunits from the Graduate school and partnerships with otherdisciplines and accessing fellowship opportunities that exist.

Thegraduate education obviously will be a way through which severalother opportunities. Getting the exposure will boost and sharpen herskills in the field. The program will also be an added advantage toher work, field experience and booster to her education. Whenundertaking graduate education, individuals carry out comprehensiveresearch. Therefore, it will be a chance for the interviewee to getthe necessary skills, values and knowledge that are required forcertification of the advanced nursing practice.

Uponundertaking this graduate education, the interviewee will be moreready and up to challenge with a couple of career opportunities. Theinterviewee will also be prepared to respond to the needs within thehealth care. Descriptionof Present Position and Role

Currently,the interviewee is a Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. Theduty she undertakes largely focus on helping the children and thefamilies to get the maximum and the best physical, social andemotional development. Through this, she has been involved in thedelivery of primary health care to infants up to adolescents. Most ofthe areas of operations have been diverse settings that includecommunity health centers, the outpatient facilities, healthdepartments, schools, day care programs and the chronic carefacilities. The nurse provides the ultimate best expert care to thechild while coordinating with the family to ensure that theirconcerns, fears, problems, and options are addressed (Hamric et al.,2013). Ideally, it emerged that the role of the nurse is quiteflexible as she explained. The work environment mainly dictates therole, which can either be a hospital, surgical center, a clinic,doctor’s office and health care setting. Even though the rolesdiffer from one care setting to another, it is no doubt that thereare specific roles played by the nurses. First, the care providersinvolve themselves in the identification of the changes in the signsand symptoms among children in different emerging situations (Thomaset al., 2016). Also, they ensure that there is the maintenance ofprivacy and confidentiality when executing their duties. The careproviders are also mandated to differentiate between normal andabnormal physical findings. Additionally, they are required toparticipate in activities that will ensure that the pains of childrenare properly managed (Hamric et al., 2013). In discharging theirduties, the interviewer also is in charge of administering medicationwhile guided by age-appropriate guidelines. In the end, they must beable to provide supportive care to the children affected.

Usefulnessof Graduate Education for Present Role

Byhaving the graduate education, the nurse is to be prepared more toundertake the duties at a higher capacity. Any form of challenge thatmight occur while offering care, can be easily taken care of uponundertaking this graduate education. Graduate education will also beinstrumental in preparing the nurse to respond to the needs withinthe health care.

Undertakingthe course at Masters level is one ideal thing as it enablesindividuals to get the opportunity to engage in detailed researchwork and partnerships with other disciplines and accessing fellowshipopportunities that exist.
