The American populace is significant in developing popculture because it engages in practices, beliefs, and innovationsthat are accepted and practices by citizens of other countries.
Thepopular culture is commonly referred to as pop culture. It means thecollection of ideas, concepts, attitudes, pictures, images, and filmthat are part of the mainstream culture. Currently, the westernculture, in Europe and the United States, is viewed as a keydeterminant of pop culture internationally. Pop culture is enhancedin the society by the mass media (Whitely, 2013). Examples ofwidespread mass media in the United States and also globally aretelevision, radio, newspapers, and magazines. Increasing internetconnectivity internationally also influence pop culture. Billions ofpeople are regular users of social networks that communicate popculture for example, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, WhatsApp, andInstagram. In the present society,the social media is a popular method of accessing information(Storey, 2015). The popular social networks are Facebook, Twitter,and Instagram. World leaders in various sectors communicate to thepublic through the social networks. President Barrack Obama hasmillions of follower in both Facebook and Twitter. The president is apopular politician because he represents global diversity. He is apracticing Christian with the Muslim name Hussein. His father was anAfrican from Kenya, while his mother was white American. Musiciansuse social media to create publicity about their new songs. TheFacebook product, YouTube, is an effective method of releasing newaudios, videos, and albums. The second knowledge gap is determininghow the pop culture positively affects the American society. Popularculture is important in connecting the American people, who are fromdiverse backgrounds. Americans from different backgrounds lovecelebrities. Popular musician couple Jay Z and Beyoncé is loved byAmericans from different religions, race, education, and wealthlevels. Celebrity film couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie is alsosupported by all groups of Americans.

The web link to the database ishttps://scholar.google.com/.Three keywords were used in the search: American, pop, and culture.The search was aimed at determining the positive influence of the popculture. The research result was further narrowed by identifyingrecent articles. This was achieved by selecting “Sort by Date”then “Since 2012.” The final step entailed selecting for mostrelevant sources that have the keywords. These sources are: Sexingthe groove: Popular music and gender,Culturaltheory and popular culture: An introduction,Globalizationand American popular culture,and Geography,the media and popular culture.
Storey(2015) explains that pop culture develops because of television andcomputers. The mass media creates heroes that ensure justice andfairness in the society. These heroes include Batman, Spiderman, andSuperman. The television heroes are desirable because they protectthe interests of all members of the society. Burgess & Gold(2015) shows that American products enhance the pop culture globally.Vehicles manufactured in the United States are high quality andaffordable than cars produced in Asia or Europe.
